WHY SLEEP BELONGS IN THE PICTURE

Rest is part
of your healthspan.

Loud snoring, witnessed pauses in breathing, waking unrefreshed and daytime sleepiness can prompt a conversation about obstructive sleep apnea. This condition involves repeated obstruction of the upper airway during sleep. Testing helps distinguish a concern from a diagnosis.[1]

01

Breathing disturbances

Assess patterns that may suggest repeated interruptions in breathing during sleep.

02

Oxygen & pulse

Record overnight oxygen and pulse information, depending on the selected home device.

03

Your symptoms & history

Connect recorded signals with how you sleep, how you feel and other health conditions.

WHAT “24-HOUR” MEANS

A home recording period.
An overnight clinical question.

The HealthCheck 2.5 offer is called a 24-hour sleep study. The sleep assessment is recorded during your normal overnight sleep within the device’s collection period; it is not 24 hours in a sleep laboratory.

Your team will confirm the device, exact wear time, sensors and return process. Some home systems estimate sleep using peripheral signals rather than the full brain-wave recording used in a laboratory.

A DIFFERENT VIEW OF HEALTH

Daytime testing cannot
show everything that happens at night.

This add-on extends beyond the base visit. The recording, interpretation and discussion of results occur separately.

THE RIGHT TEST FOR YOU

Home testing has
a defined role.

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine supports technically adequate home sleep apnea testing for selected uncomplicated adults with signs or symptoms suggesting a higher risk of moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea.[1]

It is not a universal screen for every sleep disorder. People with certain heart, lung or neurologic conditions, suspected hypoventilation, chronic opioid use or severe insomnia may need an in-laboratory study instead. If a home result is negative, unclear or technically inadequate and concern remains, a laboratory study may be needed.[1]

When sleep apnea is confirmed, a sleep clinician can discuss appropriate options, which may include positive-airway-pressure therapy, an oral appliance or other individualized care. The study itself does not include treatment equipment.[2]

GOOD TO KNOW

Your questions,
answered.

Will this diagnose insomnia or every cause of fatigue?

No. A home sleep apnea test focuses on sleep-related breathing. Fatigue and poor sleep can have many other causes.

Can I complete it during the one-hour HealthCheck?

No. Setup may be coordinated with your visit, but the overnight recording and report take place separately.

Does the price include CPAP or a laboratory study?

The $249 rate is for the offered home assessment. Treatment equipment, follow-up consultations and additional testing are not assumed to be included.
